Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (June 17, 2009)
The Federal Highway Administration issued a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation on June 17, 2009. The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity task order contracts resulting from this request for proposals are intended to give FHWA and its U.S. Department of Transportation partners the flexibility to address a number of issue areas without specifically identifying each required task for the life of the contract. The contract holders will be expected to provide a series of services as needed with a variety of transportation and other expertise brought to bear. They are expected to be able to organize resources to answer sophisticated research questions that will often be multifaceted and contentious in nature, and provide a broad range of support functions in eight task areas: Congestion; Safety Planning; Security Planning; Freight Planning; State, Metropolitan, Rural, and Tribal Planning Capacity Building; National/International Planning; Tools to Support Planning and Environment; and Program Management and Outreach.
